Irritating pest

There's this irritating boy in my class whom I dislike. He's such an annoying person that nobody in class wants to sit with him or work on projects with him. Worse, he's such a bully. Almost everyone in class has been bullied by him. Just last Friday he fought with someone in class, punching the other boy. On other days he'd be snatching other kids' stuffs.

Scolding him doesn't help coz his comprehension of English isn't that good. Or he's just pretending not to understand coz he's scared. I'm always fantasizing about beating him up, slapping him, chasing him out of the class. And I'm always telling my hubby how much I want to kill this boy. Damn....because of him, I'm accumulating bad karma with such evil thoughts!

Will someone please get rid of him?

My car rolled backwards!!

As the title stated, my car rolled backwards on a slope the moment I let go of the brake to step on the accelerator today. In my 9 years of driving, this has never happened. I was completely shocked & stepped on the accelerator with all my might. The car almost "flew" with a loud "vroommm". Scary. Now I seriously need to reconsider driving this car if the place I go to has a slope. I'm not a good confident driver. This car is stressing me out!!

School's CNY party

Today we organized a party for the P1-3 kids to introduce them to Chinese New Year culture. In previous years, it was handled by a senior staff. This year another teacher was given the task of organizing. I guess when there is a change in management, the new person would tend to try out new things and not follow what has been done/worked well.

This party turned out to be a real bore. I was checking the clock every few minutes. Some of us were yawning away. There was too much time left and we had to drag the games to kill time. The kids had fun but they probably left the party hall not learning anything about CNY culture.

Please bring back the old CNY party!!

School excursion

Lately my weekends have been different from the routine of shop, sleep, watch tv & internet. I spent it discovering Singapore. I'm like a tourist again. I revisit places to relive the old memories and create new memories. I go to places I've never been to.

First I went to Sentosa after 1.5 years. The landmark ferry terminal is gone. The lovely fountain terraces are gone. The musical fountain amphitheater is gone. In its place is a huge construction site for the integrated resort. Sentosa has transformed from a sleepy resort into a money-sucking tourist trap. Pay a bomb to go up to the Merlion to view a huge construction site. Burn a hole in your pocket to try some rides. Burn a bigger hole to view a small aquarium that takes no more than 30 mins & watch some dolphins pop in & out of waters.

The charms of Images of S'pore is still there. The dragon trail is still there. That's my best memory of Sentosa. Those "night walk" camp activities I've done at the dragon trail still leaves a deep impression in my mind. I'm surprised the beach is filled with people playing beach games. Sentosa has become a very happening place to be in for youngsters. One day I hope to go there and see the sunset like I used to do during my uni days.

I went to The National Museum of Singapore. My last visit was almost 20 years ago during one of those school excursions. The museum has maintained its lovely outlook but added on a new modern block at the back. It's nice but doesn't seem to fit with the architecture of the old. The museum experience was interesting. It's a good recap of S'pore history for me. We were given headsets to listen to explanations for the exhibits though I'd rather read than listen and carry the not-so-light set around.

Asian Civilization Museum was my next stop. My first visit ever. I don't remember it being around during my schooling days. I like this museum more probably because it's about Asia rather than just 1 country. There were many interactive exhibits which made the experience more interesting and fun than just look, read & move on. If i had the time I would've stayed on much longer.

I went to the Night Safari again, my last visit being 1.5 yrs ago. This time round it's more detailed as I had the time to walk through all the trails and observe the animals. The animal show remains unchanged, so does my excitement of watching it. I can probably watch the show & go through the trail 10 times and still feel excited about it.

Not sure where I'll go next for my excursion. Probably to the Istana or to the Science Centre. Maybe the Chinese Garden too. Or botanical gardens. And just in case you're wondering, Ms Chan isn't on a loner tour. I had a Japanese friend who's discovering Singapore so I tagged along too. Haha!

Pre-marital blues

With 1.5 months more to go before my wedding, I'm beginning to have 2nd thoughts.....

Will I be able to adapt to a completely different lifestyle in Japan?
Will I be able to cope without my family & friends?
Will I be able to come back to Singapore often?
Will I be able to find a job I enjoy in Japan?
Will we be able to live together happily ever after?
Will he continue to love me as much as before marriage?
Will he treat me as well as before marriage, or even better?

All of a sudden, I'm beginning to miss Singapore, my family & my friends. I feel as if I'm going to leave the country for a very long time. I have a sudden urge to visit as many parts of Singapore as I can before I leave for Japan. I've lived here for 29 years of my life but I've never been to Pulau Ubin & Kusu island. I want to cycle through East Coast Park again. I want to walk down the streets of Singapore at night on my own for hours again.

I can't bear to leave my job. Though it's frustrating at times, I've never liked a job more besides my first HR job at GE Plastics. I feel sad at the thought of leaving. I've settled down so well into this job and now I've to give it up and start from zero again.

I told my hubby today that I'm beginning to feel very lonely and dread moving to Japan. I told him for the 1st year, I wish to come back every 3 months. He wasn't too enthusiastic about the idea. He hoped I would teach English in schools. That means i can only go back during the school holidays (August, December & March). I told him I wish to come back for Chinese New Year and he said it's difficult to work that out if I'm teaching in schools. So I said I'll do home tuition instead which he agreed but I could sense he wasn't completely rooting for the idea.

Is love worth the sacrifices I've to make? I'm beginning to wonder if I've married too early. I've a nice hubby but is he really The One? Why must The One cause me to make so many sacrifices? If you love someone, you wouldn't want the person to be sad. If the one you love had to make sacrifices for you, wouldn't you try to make it up to him/her in some ways? Or try to soften the consequences of the sacrifices? I feel so depressed now. Why can't he be more understanding?
